Time Lapse of the Arctic Midnight Sun
The polar regions are often referred to as the lands of the midnight sun because for a period of time each year the sun never sets below the horizon.]
This video was shot at the Polish polar station on Spitsbergen. Spitsbergen is the largest, and only permanently inhabited island of the Svalbard archipelago – which is where I will be setting sail from in October!
This beautiful time lapse video, shot by Witek Kaszkin (on Vimeo), tracks the midnight sun for a full 24 hours as it dips and rises in the arctic skies.
