You can find my mugshot in Cardiff Life Magazine this month as a part of the ‘Cardiff Lives’ feature. It’s simply a brief interview with my about life, the universe and art. It’s a super shiny magazine that you can pick up for free at a number of establishments around Cardiff so keep your eyes peeled.

Lichtexperimente
These are a couple of press clippings from the ‘Experiments with Light’ exhibition that took place at Leitkzau Castle in Germany earlier this year. The exhibition was the second incarnation of ‘Experiments with Light’ following a show at the eighth Kaunas International Textile Biennial in Lithuania and was organised by Galerija Balta.
The exhibition featured the work of a number of international artists who have created textile artworks that make use of ultraviolet light including my own ultraviolet orifices.

On The Map Exhibition Catalogue
This is the exhibition literature for the current ‘On The Map’ exhibition at Hastings Art Gallery and Museum which features my work ‘Hiraeth’. The leaflet fold up like a small ordnance survey map: I’m not sure if this is how the museum normally produce their exhibition literature but it certainly work well in the context of this exhibition.
The exhibition continues until the 17 June 2012; do check it out if you get the chance.

South Wales Echo Press Clipping
I received this little press cutting via Mother Spike. Apparently one of her friends had spotted my name in the South Wales Echo last Monday, 12 December. Although it gives the impression that I was interviewed for the piece the first I heard of it was on Friday morning. It seems that the paper misquoted the news article about the ‘On The Map’ exhibition that I posted on Spikeworld last week. I’m not particularly bothered by that; being referred to as ‘Mr Dennis’ is rather discomforting though. It almost makes me sound like a grown up!!
To be honest I found it it a little odd that the South Wales Echo would run an article, no matter how small, about an exhibition in Hastings that doesn’t open for a good three months. Not that I’m complaining; it’s nice of them to give me a mention. Should they be so kind as to give me a shout out in the future though I hope they won’t be too shy to give me a call first. After all I don’t bite.

This is a very handy little booklet of embroidery stitches that used to belong to my Grandma’s next door neighbour once upon a time (c.1935) in northern English town far away. The stitches featured are:
Running & Laced Running Stitches, Tent Stitch, Cross Stitch, Herring Bone Stitch, Chain Stitch, Daisy Stitch, Chequer Chain Stitch, Double Back Stitch, Pekinese Stitch, Stem Stitch, Hemstitch, Blanket Stitch, Buttonhole Stitch, Roumainian Stitch, Fly Stitch, Couching, Needleweaving, Chevron Stitch, Straight Stitch, Holbein Stitch, French Knots, Coral Stitch, Satin Stitch, Twisted Chain Stitch, Rosette Chain Stitch, Flat Stitch, Bullion Stitch and Feather Stitch.

Guardian Website Coverage
It seems like word about the Cut-Click Mail Art exhibition at Milkwood is spreading around well and creating the time-lapse video of the installation has paid of as it was posted on the Creative Review website earlier this week and has now featured on this posted on the Guardian website’s Cardiff pages.

Creative Review Website
It was a nice birthday surprise to see my video of the installation of the Cut-Click Exhibition at the Milkwood Gallery up on the Creative Review website today. I have to thank the fabulous Caroline Twidle for making this happen.

FringeMK Catalogue
I got my hands on a copy of the catalogue from the FringeMK exhibitions. It features my work ‘Blossom: The Space Between Us’ which was short-listed for the painting prize back in May.
Unfortunately I was unable to make it to the exhibition featuring the prize winning finalists Emma Talbot, Michele Fletcher, Jake Clark, and Brendan Lyons. Of course all of these artists feature in the catalogue too. It’s a lovely little book and if you’d like a copy for yourself you should contact the FringeMK organisers: www.fringemk.com.
